Twist Of Fate

Lyrics:

"The Offer"

By: Scott K. Haskin

Back

He came to me in his darkest time

Said, "I'll pay you thirty grand if you do my wife."

Handed me a ticket and a photograph

So I'd know it was her when I crossed her path

He said, "She took it all and now I want revenge

"So go and kill her and bring me back her head

"You've got your ticket and a hotel room

"You call me Stanley, I'll call you Dr. Doom."

The plane landed, I stepped out of the cab

As I was thinking, 'Should I shoot or should I stab?'

She was a thing of beauty, her eyes were shining bright

And I knew right away something wasn't right

She begged and pleaded and offered me the world

To spare the life of this simple country girl

I didn't know if what she told me was the truth

Was he the one who cheated or was this all a ruse?

What are these things she is saying to me?

When there's money on the line you don't know who to believe

I started to wonder if I had been deceived

Should I just turn around, take the money and leave?

She told me stories of how he beat her

She could not believe that he wanted me to kill her

As I took it all in I needed time to think

So I took her to a bar and I bought her a drink

The more we talked I was falling in love

And a whole new plan I started to dream of

We took his money and started a new life

Now we live in Paris and she is my wife
